After finding oil on the land, the family is surprised when Mr. Brewster of the OK Oil Company offers to buy it. (The family home is set in the Branson, Missouri area.) After much coaxing by Cousin Pearl, Jed sells the swamp and moves the family to a mansion in Beverly Hills. Upon their arrival, they are arrested because of a case of mistaken identity but are later returned to the mansion safely.

DVD Release

CBS originally bought the rights to the series, but they didn't renew their copyrights. Now, many small companies have released episodes on discs ranging from 4-9 episodes per disc. These episodes, however, don't have the traditional "Ballad of Jed Clampett"theme song. Later, Paul Henning authorized that the Best of Season 1 and Season 2 be released on DVD. It was released in the Beverly Hillbillies Ultimate Collection 1, and Beverly Hillbillies Ultimate Collection 2
